General information

Feedback from previous years
  • "This workshop gave me exactly the knowledge/tools/experience I need to go forward on my own." (via)

  • "An excellent tutorial! The instructor took his time, answered questions, and explained things in a very easy to understand manner. Thanks, Philip!" (via)

  • "I’m glad I decided to attend the Arduino tutorial this year. I’ve just picked up yet another hobby I don’t have time for." (via)

  • “An excellent half-day tutorial.“ (via)

When you arrive

  • To get the most from the workshop you will need an Arduino & small parts kit. Your registration price includes the cost of this kit--you will pick up the kit at the beginning of the tutorial. The kits include the necessary breadboard, LEDs, resistors, button and jumpers required for the workshop in addition to a number of other parts useful for your own exploration.

  • While we will cover the installation process during the workshop you might prefer to install the Arduino software (see below in the "installation" section of the resource links) onto your laptop before arriving or while waiting for the workshop to begin. This will help you get onto the fun part of playing with hardware faster. This is particularly recommended if you have a Linux-based system.
